PINE RING 27/7/21
Handmade in Scotland using local materials
The ring-
The pine was gathered from my local area when a small group of trees were being cut down. I collected a small number of off-cuts that were used to create this ring.
The varnish-
The varnish is made up of 1/3 beeswax sourced from a local Aberdeen company and 2/3 rapeseed oil that is also produced and bottled in Aberdeenshire.

The making process-
A total of 44 minutes and 39 seconds were used to hand make this.
A total of 8 minutes and 21 seconds was used of electricity (Dremel and saw tool).
135 Watts (dremel) x 0.0746 Hours = 10.071 KW
10.071 KW / 1000 = 0.010071 KWh.
560 Watts (saw) x 0.0075 Hours = 0.420 KW
0.420 KW / 1000 =0.042 KWh
0.010071 + 0.042 = 0.052071
Total = 0.052 Kilowatts per hour.
Carbon footprint-
Using a carbon calculator, I am able to report the CO2 impact.
Calculator - https://www.rensmart.com/Calculators/KWH-to-CO2
0.012 kg CO2e Carbon dioxide + equivalent).
